Join our incredible team of volunteers who support our community and build new relationships at the same time.

DRIVER
Drivers can support:
collecting and loading donated, rescued, and purchased foods from various locations in Cobourg/Port Hope and surrounding areas
delivering groceries to Neighbours that cannot shop in-person at one of our locations
and participating in parades!
Each Fare Share vehicle is assigned a driver and a helper; additional helpers may be assigned to help unload back at the food bank.
Driver must submit a copy of their valid license to be insured on Fare Share vehicle(s)
RECEIVER
Receiving Volunteers help as heavy lifters on-site at our locations.
This role requires moving crates/boxes within the food bank and assisting with the loading/unloading of the truck when inventory comes into the food bank.
Receiving Volunteers must be comfortable with lifting up to 50lbs, including lifting over shoulder height and standing for long periods of time
STUDENT
Student Volunteers can complete their community service hours with the food bank by helping us as:
Daily Wrap-up Volunteers: help wrap-up the food bank at the end of each weekday. Duties include general housekeeping (garbage, recycling, sweeping and cleaning), food bank prep (stocking shelves, organizing fridge/freezer items), portioning (food and/or household and personal care items), etc.
Cram-a-Cruiser Food Drives: students can provide event support for our monthly community food drives (occur on weekends)
